doki Client Terms of Use
The rules. Fair ones.
Terms of Use, in short
- Use doki to play Minecraft, mod it and enjoy it.
- doki doesn't sell or unlock Minecraft, and you follow Minecraft's own rules too.
- Be decent to people in Friend Zone, or lose access to it.
- doki comes as it is: keep backups of worlds you care about.
Agreeing to these terms
By installing or using doki, or using this website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use doki.
If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to read and agree to these terms with you.
doki and Minecraft
NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.
doki is an independent launcher and client. It does not sell, include or unlock Minecraft. You are responsible for following the Minecraft End User License Agreement and the Microsoft Services Agreement when you play.
Offline profiles are for singleplayer, LAN and servers that allow offline players. Don't use doki to get into servers, accounts or content you aren't allowed to use.
Your licence to use doki
doki Client is proprietary software owned by doki. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we can withdraw if you break these terms, to install and use official builds of doki Client for your own play. You may not:
- sell, rent or redistribute doki Client, or modified copies of it;
- pass off another build as an official doki release;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows you to regardless of these terms;
- remove or change our copyright, trademark or licence notices;
- use it to spread malware or to attack anyone, including us.
Official builds are only those published on this website and in the release repository at the doki release repository. Anything from anywhere else is not doki, whatever it's called.
Some parts of doki are open source and come with their own licences, including the doki in-game client (doki Core), which is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 with the Additional Terms Applicable to OneConfig. Those licences govern those parts, and nothing in these terms takes away the rights they give you.
Price
If we ever offer anything paid, its price and terms will be shown to you clearly before you pay, and you won't be charged for anything you haven't agreed to.
Mods, servers and other people's content
doki installs things made by others: mods, modpacks, resource packs and shaders from Modrinth, mod loaders, Java from Adoptium, and more. Each belongs to its creator and comes under its creator's licence. We don't check, control or vouch for what they do, beyond checking that each file is the one its publisher released.
Featured servers are run by their own owners, under their own rules. Listing a server is not an endorsement, and we aren't responsible for what happens on it.
doki accounts and Friend Zone
Friend Zone, messages and profiles need a doki account: sign in with Microsoft, or make one with an email and password on dokiclient.com. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself, keep your PC and your Microsoft account secure, and tell us at support@dokiclient.com if you think someone else is using it.
An offline name you add to your account is yours while you keep it, five at most, first come first served. A premium Minecraft player always gets their own name back.
Community rules
Whatever you post in doki, whether profile text, images, screenshots, comments or messages, must not:
- harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone, or encourage anyone to harm themselves;
- be hateful towards anyone for their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or similar;
- be sexual, obscene or pornographic, or involve anyone under 18 in any sexual way (we report this to the authorities);
- invade anyone's privacy, including sharing someone's personal details without their permission;
- impersonate another person, or mislead people about who you are;
- be spam, a scam, phishing, or a link to malware;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- be knowingly false and meant to mislead;
- threaten the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries, or public order, or encourage any crime;
- break any law that applies to you.
Don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of doki's services, or access anyone else's account.
If you see something that breaks these rules, write to support@dokiclient.com with the player's username and what happened. We may remove content, and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules.
What you post stays yours
You own what you post. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people it's meant for, and copy it as needed to run the service, for as long as it stays on doki. You can delete your screenshots and comments yourself, and ask us to delete anything else.
If you think something on doki infringes your copyright or other rights, write to support@dokiclient.com with a link or description of it and why it's yours, and we'll look into it promptly.
Updates and changes to the service
doki checks for updates and installs them after verifying they're signed by us, so you stay on a safe, current version.
doki is young and still changing. We may add, change, pause or end features or online services, including Friend Zone and featured servers, at any time. We'll try to give notice of big changes.
No guarantees
doki is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or work with every mod, modpack, server or PC.
Mods and modpacks can crash games and damage worlds. Keep backups of worlds and files you care about.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, doki is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost worlds, data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of doki, or from mods, servers or services run by others. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for doki in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using doki at any time by uninstalling it, and ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. If you break these terms, we may suspend or end your access to doki's online services.
Trademarks
Minecraft is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation, used here only to describe what doki works with. The doki name and logo belong to doki. Other names belong to their owners.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of India. Before that, write to support@dokiclient.com: most problems can be fixed by talking. If the law where you live gives you rights or a choice of court that these terms can't take away, you keep them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and if a change matters, we'll say so in the launcher before it takes effect. Using doki after that means you accept the new terms.
