A TLauncher alternative, made in India
Done with TLauncher?
Most players looking for a TLauncher alternative want three things: to play without a premium account, to know what they're installing, and modpacks that just work. doki Client does all three, and every claim it makes about safety can be checked.
How do you know a launcher is safe?
Ask any launcher these, doki included. Here are its answers.
- Where do installers come from?
- Every doki installer is published in a public GitHub repository, with SHA256SUMS.txt beside it to check the file.
- Are updates signed?
- Every in-app update is checked against doki's signing key before it installs. One that doesn't match is refused.
- How are accounts stored?
- Saved sign-ins are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and on Windows the keys are also protected by DPAPI.
- What does it connect to?
- doki lists every service the launcher talks to, taken from its own code, on its Trust page.
- What isn't finished?
- Said plainly: the Windows installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns once on first install.
What does doki do that you'd miss?
The things players usually move launchers for.
- No premium needed
- Offline profiles for singleplayer, LAN and offline-mode servers, and Microsoft sign-in on the same launcher.
- Every version and loader
- Any Minecraft release on Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, Quilt or NeoForge, with the loader installed for you.
- All of Modrinth
- Mods, modpacks, resource packs, shaders and datapacks, with dependencies sorted and every file hash-checked.
- Java included
- Java 21 bundled, and Java 8 or 17 in one click for older versions.
- Skin Studio
- Paint your skin on a 3D model and keep it in a wardrobe.
- Windows and Linux
- An MSI for Windows, and AppImage, DEB or RPM for Linux.
How do you move your worlds over?
Worlds are plain folders, so they travel with you.
- Find your worlds
- Each world is a folder in your old launcher's saves folder, usually inside .minecraft.
- Make an instance
- In doki, make an instance on the same Minecraft version and loader the world was played on.
- Copy the folder
- Open the instance's files from doki and copy the world folder into its saves folder.
- Modpacks
- If the pack is on Modrinth, install it from inside doki. If you have a .mrpack file, import it.
